20-Foot Concrete Parshall Flume with Radius Wing Walls
Description
A 20-foot concrete Parshall flume during installation in Bijou Canal near Greeley, CO. At the entrance of the flume radius wing walls are present to smoothly direct flow into the converging section.
Radius wing walls appear in Dr. Parshall's later publications on his namesake flume (1950, 1953). Their use can help to correct the wave / trough phenomena reported by Blaisdell (1994).
