Edge-of-Field Site During Installation
- University of Kentucky: Glynn Beck
Description
An Edge-of-Field site during installation. Much of the work has been done: the H Flume has been installed, the wing walls placed, and the support stand for the flow metering / sampling equipment has been constructed.
H Flumes are the preferred primary device for flow mesuring at Edge-of-Field installations. The flume can measure low flows accurately and passes solids well.
Because the wing walls are usually nearly perpendicular to the flume, the flume is usually provided with an approach section to help straighten and condition the flow before it enters the flume.
