A Domed Top Energy Absorbing Manhole under operation.  Flow enters from the top of the picture, hits the baffle plate, flows around it, and is directly out of the manhole by the curved fiberglass walls on either side of the outlet pipe stub.

Notice how much open area the domed top provides inside the manhole should the operator need to enter it.
