Galvanized Cutthroat Flume with Stilling Well

Galvanized Cutthroat Flume with Stilling Well

Description

A galvanized steel Cutthroat Flume measuring stream flow for the California Department of Fish & Wildlife.  The flume is provided with a stilling well with lockable cover and a staff gauge.

The flume has been bedded in concrete to minimize the possibility of the flume heaving / settling out of place.  Like Parshall Flumes, the flow equations for Cutthroat Flumes can be corrected for these conditions, but such flow corrections should only be done as a last resort.
