Flat Bolt-On Outlet Wing Walls on a Small Parshall Flume

Flat Bolt-On Outlet Wing Walls on a Parshall Flume

Description

Flat, bolt-on wing walls on the outlet of a fiberglass 1-inch Parshall Flume.  Wing walls help to direct flow into and out of a flume in a controlled manner.

Here the outlet wing walls are flat and perpendicular to flow.  Where energy recovery and downstream scour are a concern, the walls are usually angled out of the flume at a 45-degree angle.
