How Do I Secure a Flume During Installation | Open Channel Flow
Skip to main content

When installing a flume in concrete the flume can be keyed to the concrete by running wire through the anchor clips (when provided) along the outside of the flume and then back to the rebar.  Rebar or threaded rod may also be run through the anchor clip holes.

For earthen channel applications threaded rod can be run through the anchor clip holes (and through the top flange of the flume if necessary).  Additionally, turnbuckles can be attached to the anchor clips and then secured back to earth anchors.

Remember that anchor clips are not structural in nature and are not intended to be the sole means of securing or leveling a flume.  Flumes must still be cribbed / braced and weighted during installation to ensure that they do not shift or float out of position during installation.
